REIMAGINING THE FUTURE OF FOOD

The Boulder Alt. Protein Project is a student organization at the University of Colorado Boulder. Formerly known as the CU Cell Ag Club, in early 2020 we joined a network of Alt. Protein Project chapters at universities across the globe.

The Alt. Protein Project is an initiative of the Good Food Institute, a global nonprofit working to accelerate the development of plant-based, cultivated, and fermentation-derived alternatives to conventional meat, fish, eggs, and dairy.

The Boulder Alt. Protein Project strives to support the development of a healthy, humane and sustainable food system by building a community of students and faculty interested in advancing plant-based and cultivated alternatives to animal products.

We serve as an inclusive space to discover how individual interests and skills intersect with the needs of the alternative protein industry to help students plan careers that will transform the future of food.

During the academic year, we host biweekly panels and webinars featuring guest speakers involved in the field. In addition, we organize a monthly journal club, general body meetings, committee meetings, and social events like potlucks and film screenings.

Check out our event calendar to find out what's happening next!

We have lots of opportunities for students, faculty, community members, and industry leaders across the world to be a part of our project. Please don't hesitate to reach out and connect with us.

If you're a CU Boulder student wanting to get more involved, please join our email list and check out our open positions page!
